Badminton World Championship 2010 Fever!!!

Started on 23/8/2010...Every match is worth watching. As soon as the 1st match started I won't leave my seat till all matches were finished for the day. The time at my country when the event start is between 6pm/7pm-2am. I root and shout for hours and hours long as if I was there. That's how much I love badminton since I was small. There're some unexpected turnover like lower/unseeded players beating top seeded ones...

The one that I salute the most in this championship is (Women Single-Chinese Taipei-Cheng Shao-Chieh[unseeded]) her fighting spirit is so strong that although with leg injury she still won't give up. 2nd game with Bae Seung Hee[14th seed] 21-14, 21-23, 21-16 then meeting up with Juliane Schenk[8th seed] 19-21, 21-13, 21-19 and that's when her leg which didn't fully recovered during the match with Bae in Chinese Taipei Open final started to kick in. She fought with Tine Baun[4th seed] 18-21, 13-21 until both feet bleed at the toes...there's blood on both side of her feet, stocking soaked with blood and I can't bear to watch her painful expression although she fought till the end. I think she deserves more applause than Tine.

Next big upset is the exit of (Men Single-Malaysia-Lee Chong Wei [1st seed]) 15-21, 21-11, 12-21 to Taufik Hidayat[5th seed] of Indonesia and (Men Single-China-Lin Dan [3rd seed]) crashed out 13-21, 13-21 to Park Sung Hwan[13th seed] of Korea. Lee & Lin Dan are expected to meet at the final but didn't managed to do so. Peter Gade[2nd seed] lost 21-19, 8-21, 11-21 to Chen Jin[4th seed] of China. Chances are now open to Taufik & Chen Jin to win the championship.

(Men's Doubles-Malaysia-Koo Kien Kiat-Tan Boon Heong[1st seed]) are going strong after beating their most unlikely to win pair (Lee Yong Dae-Jung Jae Sung[7th seed]) of Korea with a hard fought 23-25, 21-13, 21-14. They met 10 times including this match and only won twice over the Korean pair. Beating (Guo Zhendong-Xu Chen[4th seed])of China 21-14, 21-18 they march into the final to meet (Cai Yun-Fu Haifeng[5th seed]) of China after Cai-Fu beat Olympic Champion (Markis Kido-Hendra Setiawan[2nd seed]) of Indonesia 21-16, 21-13.

Women's Doubles will be an all-China affair as (Ma Jin-Wang Xiaoli[1st seed]) beats compatriot (Cheng Shu-Zhao Yunlei[4th seed]) 10-21, 21-10, 21-13 will take on (Du Jing-Yu Yang[2nd seed]) beating (Cheng Wen Hsing-Chien Yu Chin[3rd seed]) of Chinese Taipei 21-16, 21-15

Mixed Doubles too is an all-China affair as (Zheng Bo-Ma Jin[8th seed]) beats (Ko Sung Hyun-Ha Jung Eun) of Korea 15-21, 21-11, 21-16 meets (He Hanbin-Yu Yang[6th seed]) beating (Lee Sheng Mu-Chien Yu Chin[16th seed]) of Chinese Taipei 21-13, 21-8. Both Ma Jin and Yu Yang play for Women's Double and Mixed Doubles. Even with two sides to play they still storm all the way to the final. Having 2 partners at the same time requires them to adjust their strategies and match their partners pace. Such good adaptation is world class.

Women Single too ended up with an all-China affair as Wang Lin[7th seed]) beats Tine Baun[4th seed] in an astonishing 21-11, 21-8 while Wang Xin[3rd seed] beats compatriot Wang Shixian[6th seed] in rubber set 21-19, 11-21, 21-16.

Kudos to all the players!!! I can hardly wait to watch all the matches today!! Are you ready!? LET'S GO!! ^o^
